Northcrest Tri-Level - rendering by John Eaton

Residents of Northcrest, Hidden Acres, Northcrest East and the surrounding areas may submit photos, history and anecdotes about their homes by contacting me, John Eaton.

If you have additional information about the subdivision, architects, builders or people of Northcrest, I welcome your information and images as well. I am currently looking for information on the Northcrest builder (P&H Realty Company, Inc and also photos of the first Northcrest sign (that greeted visitors at the front of the neighborhood on Regalwoods Drive) - this is a vertical sign that hung from a post prior to the first sign set into the brick planter (below).

Most of the images of homes, streets, events, etc were taken by me, John Eaton, a resident in Northcrest since 1998. You can contact me from the link above or at the bottom of the page. I've tried to add dates (of when the image was created) so it's apparent that what's shown is a snapshot of time.

2016 GSU graduate program for a Masters of Heritage Preservation

The students in this program undertook the rather onerous task of documenting Northcrest's history and many details which I've in turn added to the site, for the Northcrest Historic District nomination. As part of the evaluation a detailed Case Study was undertaken along with a survey of almost every  home in the area that could make up the Northcrest Historic District

A heartfelt thanks to all who participated! A special shoutout to my neighbor Paige Lozier for making this all happen!

GSU Photography
They graciously offered up the materials that they discovered including their survey photos - those in turn have been used throughout and marked with a date (when the image was taken) and "- GSU" so credit can be given. There appears to have been 6 teams taking images so they vary a bit in lighting (the first few sets were taken in February 2016 with a follow-up set taken in May 2016). The earlier set shows the results of winter so there's a lack of foliage and they appear somewhat dark. There were also various cameras used - the higher quality images were taken with a tripod mounted digital camera (which wasn't adjusted for inclines so I've had to adjust in cropping); some images appear to have been taken using digital deviced with a portrait orientation (also cropped to make things more consistent).

Note that those photos were in very large image formats so I've cropped many of them and in many cases have lightened the mid-range so it's easier to see details in shadow. Some images were missing from the survey - in those cases the individual listings show <placeholder> - I'll try to update with current images as I find time to take them.

GSU Contributing/Non-Contributing Determination
Going through each address (there's a spreadsheet that came with the HDIF) I've found the "contributing" or "non-contributing" seems to be a bit inconsistent. There's evaluation criteria to determine what contributes and what doesn't - if you don't agree with something note that I didn't make the determination. I'm not sure if there's a method currently of correcting things other than nothing them her, on NorthcrestModern - until a dispute method is determined there isn't much recourse in making corrective changes to the actual roster)

Rick Lozano 2015
Neighbor Rick Lozano offered up an original set of Northcrest Tri-Level plans for me to scan.
