Plain; No Academic Style (138)
This
style, or lack thereof, is devoid of historically derived forms and
features. Red brick is typically used on the exterior, and few or no
ornamental embellishments exist. The style “emphasizes the fundamentals
of form, roofline, and window openings.” (Ranch Evaluation: New South)
Though it is the most common style for Ranch houses in Georgia, there
are only a few Plain Ranch houses in the oldest sections of Northcrest.
Some streets, such as Northbrook Drive, are completely lined with Plain
Ranch houses.
