3487 Bowling Green Way - The Wingfields • Garden Only!
Laura,
Todd, and Ryan Wingfield have lived in Laura’s childhood home on
Bowling Green Way since 2010. They invite you to tour the beautiful
outdoor spaces surrounding the house.
Laura’s mother, Claire
Brannen, lovingly tended the grounds until her death in 2009. Laura
remembers that the pine isle in the front yard seemed less spacious when
she was younger and the backyard was merely a grassy plot with metal
fencing.
Over the last two decades, after she retired, Claire
created a secret garden in the back yard, where she transformed a grassy
landscape with a few plots for vegetables and daisies into a quiet spot
filled with old-fashioned honeysuckle, hydrangeas, gardenias, hostas,
and a variety of flowering bushes, vines, and trees.
Claire also
turned her attention to the pine isle in the front yard and added a
bridge over the small stream that runs through it — as well as a space
for tea parties, with a tree trunk as the table and tree trunk slices as
seats!
Laura has followed her mother’s passion for gardening, and
many of the plants you’ll see are gifts from family and friends,
including Hoe ‘n Hope Garden Club members.
