3452 Archwood Drive - Ken Hedrick and Hector Pages
Ken and
Hector moved into their current home after their house on Summitridge
fell victim to the September 2009 flood. Ken had been hired to stage
this unoccupied house-for-sale that same Monday, and by Tuesday night
they had moved what was left of their belongings into the house and
started their lives over.
By the time the Summitridge house was
repaired and remodeled, Ken and Hector had fallen in love with their new
home — the privacy of the split-level layout, the open space of the
remodeled kitchen, the views afforded by the gigantic windows, and the
fact that it’s on a hill.
The new house wasn’t without its
problems, though, and had sat empty for 18 months (that’s why they call
Ken, to stage homes that don’t move!). So, Ken and Hector set about
making this new house their home.
They have painted the interior,
added skylights, worked on reclaiming the yard, installed fencing for
both privacy and pets, gotten the pond cleaned out and working, and
repaired the deck. But, Ken says, don’t expect perfection...the house is
a work in progress! Still on the list are: bathroom remodels (with the
Dial tile left intact), kitchen remodel, new windows throughout, tree
removal, a new driveway, and demolition of the front “mud room” to bring
back the original “car patio” so that Ken can sit back after all this
work and admire his vintage car(s)!
Ken and Hector invite you to stop by and enjoy the unique hospitality their home has to offer.
